ADAS Calibration in Bryan–College Station

Modern windshields are often part of the vehicle’s safety system. A camera mounted near the rear-view mirror may support lane departure warning, lane centering, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, and other Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

When the manufacturer procedure requires calibration after windshield replacement, George’s Auto Glass can handle that calibration in house at our Bryan location. That keeps the glass and calibration workflow together instead of sending the customer from one business to another.

Why Windshield Camera Calibration Matters

The camera looks through the windshield at the road. Even a small change in camera position, windshield geometry, mounting angle, ride height, alignment, or other vehicle conditions can affect what the system “sees.” Calibration teaches the vehicle the camera or sensor’s correct reference position according to the required procedure.

A warning light is not the only way to determine whether calibration is required. The correct answer comes from the vehicle manufacturer’s procedure for the specific year, make, model, equipment, and repair operation.

When ADAS Calibration May Be Required

Common triggers can include windshield replacement, removal or replacement of a forward-facing camera, collision repairs, suspension or alignment work, and certain diagnostic or component procedures. The exact requirement varies by vehicle.

For George’s windshield customers, we check the vehicle’s equipment and calibration requirements as part of the quote and repair planning process.

Static and Dynamic Calibration

Some vehicles require a static calibration using targets and precise measurements in a controlled environment. Others require a dynamic calibration performed while driving the vehicle under specified conditions. Some require both. George’s uses professional calibration equipment and follows the procedure that applies to the vehicle rather than choosing a method based on convenience.

Calibration Documentation

After the calibration process, we document the work performed and verify the system status as required by the procedure. If a vehicle cannot complete calibration because of a separate condition—such as alignment, fault codes, tire/ride-height issues, damage, or another system problem—we explain what needs attention rather than forcing a false “pass.”

Windshield Replacement + Calibration in One Workflow

This is one of the biggest advantages of choosing George’s for a modern windshield. Our team can identify the correct glass, replace the windshield, scan the vehicle as appropriate, and complete the required camera calibration through one coordinated process.

Mobile windshield replacement may still be possible, but calibrations that require our controlled shop setup are completed at the shop. We will tell you that before the appointment.

ADAS Calibration for Other Repair Facilities

George’s can also support qualifying calibration work for collision-repair and automotive partners that need a dedicated calibration resource. Contact us with the vehicle and repair information so we can determine the applicable procedure and scheduling requirements.
